Allied Mobility Sponsors Glasgow Powerchair Football Team's Journey to International Competition

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Allied Mobility, part of the Allied Vehicles Group, on sponsoring a Glasgow young powerchair football team to the sum on £16,900, enabling it to compete in an international tournament in Geneva, Switzerland; considers that the sponsorship underscores Allied Vehicles Group’s commitment to empowering disabled people and promoting inclusivity in all aspects of life; acknowledges that the Glasgow team, known as FC United Powerchair Football Club, consists of players of all ages and abilities, and showcases the incredible talent and spirit that powerchair football fosters; understands that the decision to sponsor the team was inspired by a chance encounter between David Facenna, Corporate Culture Director at Allied Vehicles Group, and a young boy named Kaiden, who is already being recognised as one of the top powerchair football players in the UK despite being only eight years old; further understands that the sport offers people who are severely impaired access to the world's most popular game, and notes that powerchair football is open to anyone who uses a powered wheelchair or those who have limited movement in a manual wheelchair.
