Housebuilder's Charitable Arm Donates £300,000 to Help Tackle Youth Unemployment

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Barratt Foundation, part of Barratt Developments, on donating £300,000 to help tackle youth unemployment; notes that it gave the money to Street League, a charity that supports unemployed young people aged 16 to 30 who face life challenges and personal barriers; understands that the funds were presented at a workshop at a Street League Academy in Glasgow in September 2024; further understands that the donation will benefit more than 1,500 young people, helping at least 700 to secure stable and meaningful employment; acknowledges that the event was attended by 10 young people from Street League, along with representatives from Barratt and Street League; understands that the charity said that the donation will make a monumental difference to its mission of enabling social mobility by helping thousands of unemployed young people to get healthier, gain qualifications and enter employment; commends The Barratt Foundation, and hopes that its investment in Street League reflects the impactful work that it does in tackling youth unemployment among 16- to 30-year-olds.
