A New Photography Exhibition Dedicated to Mental Health Opened in Glasgow

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates those involved in the exhibition, called Mind the Gap, which is being displayed at Skypark and aims to encourage anyone struggling with their own mental health to ask for help; notes the collective body of work by Ross Samson and Anastazia Hart, and understands that each participant has drawn on their personal experiences; understands that, now in its 18th year, the annual Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF) is led by the Mental Health Foundation, and aims to provide a platform for everyone to create and share art inspired by mental health and explore how the arts and creativity can support people to live mentally healthier lives; acknowledges that the exhibition is part of SMHAF, and that Ross Samson’s journey began over 10 years ago when he turned to photography as a means of managing stress, and understands that the festival runs from 10 to 27 October 2024, with Mind the Gap holding public workshops on Mondays at Skypark at 11.00 am from 23 September and throughout October.
