Rivals Gym Raises Over £58,000 for Mental Health Charity
The motion
That the Parliament applauds Scott and Sam Allan from Rivals Gym, in Wishaw, for their outstanding fundraising in aid of Chris’s House; understands that they have raised over £58,000 from their "Knockout the Stigma" events in the community over the past few years; further understands that, so far in 2024, they have raised over £7,192 through organising martial arts and kickboxing events; notes that Chris’s House is a Wishaw-based charity, which provides 24-hours-a-day support for people in mental health crisis, as well as promoting positive mental health awareness and wellbeing across Lanarkshire; recognises what it sees as the huge positive impact that the organisation has had within the community, with peer support groups, mentoring and motivational workshops all being offered, and wishes Sam, Scott, all their families and friends, the volunteers and community of both Rivals Gym and Chris’s House all the very best for the future.
