The motion

That the Parliament commends the efforts of pupils at two Aberdeen schools, Greenbrae School which is in the Aberdeen Donside constituency, and St Peter’s RC School, who have recently collaborated with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) at an interactive workshop and performance at the Lemon Tree in Aberdeen; understands that the RSNO partnered with Aberdeen City Music Service to provide the pupils with access to unique musical experiences that may not have otherwise been available to them; notes that the workshop was provided by the RSNO in partnership with Charanga, which is a music resource programme that has been rolled out to all primary schools in Aberdeen to allow teachers access to more music teaching resources; believes that it gave pupils an insight into the various instruments that make up an orchestra; recognises the importance of such experiences for pupils in order to help develop a lifelong love for music as well as introducing them to instruments that they might never have seen or heard before; applauds the hard work and dedication of all involved in the success of both the workshop and the performance, and wishes everyone involved the best for the future.
