Laurieston Bowling Club Raises Fantastic Fundraising Total for Annual Willie Scobie Memorial Event

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Laurieston Bowling Club on hosting an excellent community fundraising event of bowls and hospitality in memory of the late Willie Scobie; understands that this is now an annual event, having been started in 2019 by Barry Main in memory of his brother-in-law; further understands that the event has generated funds for a number of charities through the years, including the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK; acknowledges that 2024’s event was held on 21 September, raising a total in excess of £3,000, which will be split between Strathcarron Hospice and Forth Valley Royal Nurses; congratulates everyone at Laurieston Bowling Club on continuing with their extensive community fundraising events, and wishes them all the very best for the future.
