Welcoming the University of Stirling’s Be Connected Programme
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the University of Stirling’s Be Connected programme of free events and activities for its community of students and staff, with some open to include Stirling’s local community; understands that the programme brings together students and staff in learning, socialising, wellbeing, keeping active and through connection, and includes an open-to-the-public weekly parkrun in the university grounds, eco craft workshops, study abroad 101, connecting cultures events, a global café and games nights; commends the university's partnership working with the Macrobert Arts Centre to provide free movie nights for students; notes that the current programme is running these events up until the end of 2024, culminating in a free Christmas dinner; is grateful to the university for the creation of this programme, recognising the positive impact that this might bring to the local area, students and staff, and extends its very best wishes for the success of all the activities.
