Clyde Valley High School Recognised for Tackling and Preventing Bullying

The motion

That the Parliament commends the pupils of Clyde Valley High School on being recognised for their dedication to tackling and preventing bullying; notes that Clyde Valley High School is the first in North Lanarkshire to receive this recognition and the eighth secondary school nationally; understands that Respect Me, which is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH) in partnership with LGBT Youth Scotland, found that young people and staff at Clyde Valley had demonstrated the core values of respect, fairness, inclusion and a child-centred approach; notes that the award recognises the effectiveness of a consistent and intentional whole-school approach to anti-bullying and prioritises the safety and wellbeing of young people; understands that the process was led by a group of dedicated young people, including Lia McLean, Emilie Laats, Ellie McCulloch, Freya Carlin, Liam Russell, Mathew Kazmierczak and Emily Miller; commends them on their efforts, and wishes them all the best for the future.
