Congratulating Mid Scotland and Fife Region Living Wage Scotland Awards Finalists
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the recently announced Mid Scotland and Fife region finalists in the Living Wage Scotland Awards; understands that the awards celebrate individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the Living Wage movement in Scotland; congratulates VisionPK, which is a sensory loss charity providing services in the Perth and Kinross area, on being shortlisted in the Newcomer category, Thistle Care Solutions Personal Care Providers, which is based in Kirkcaldy on being nominated in the Employee Choice category, Fife Gingerbread, which is a finalist in the Living Hours category and Kirsty Lunn of Molke, which is an ethical organic cotton underwear provider based in Perth, who has been named in the Voice of the Year category; commends these businesses and Kirsty on what it sees as their very valuable efforts to guarantee that fair work and a real living wage is available to their employees; believes that all these finalists make a difference to tackling in work poverty; is very grateful to them for their contributions to help to eradicate zero-hours contracts and precarious working hours in their area; applauds their commitment to provide secure contracts and flexible hours; extends its very best wishes to all the Mid Scotland and Fife finalists, and wishes them good luck in the upcoming finals and continued success.
