Motion · S6M-14857 · 8 Oct 2024
Opposition to the Invasion of Ukraine
The motion
That the Parliament continues to oppose the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine; calls for peace, based on the withdrawal of all Russian troops; supports sanctions on Russian exports to reduce Russia’s ability to finance what it sees as its war of aggression, including on its exports of climate-damaging fossil fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG); believes that any Scotland-based companies involved in the transportation of Russian LNG should not receive any financial or other assistance from the Scottish Government, and urges the Scottish and UK governments to work together to ensure a uniform approach to the application of sanctions across the UK.
