The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Paul Davidson, of Bo’ness, on his successful fundraising for WaterAid through Scottish Water’s first-ever Tap to Tap challenge; understands that Scottish Water recently encouraged its employees to participate in the fundraising challenge by traveling by foot or bike between the vibrant blue Top Up Taps available across the country; notes that the aim of this challenge, alongside crucial fundraising, was to highlight the distance that some people have to travel to access safe, clean drinking water; recognises that Paul Davidson, a delivery manager for Scottish Water, has been a strong supporter of WaterAid since 2008, having contributed through various fundraising efforts and hands-on involvement in projects, including a trip to Zambia in 2012 and Rwanda earlier in 2024; notes that Paul has inspired his two young sons to also get involved, which resulted in them taking part in the Tap to Tap challenge on 21 September 2024; congratulates Paul Davidson and his sons on completing a 22-mile cycle from Bo’ness to South Queensferry via the John Muir Way, and on raising an additional £300 to support WaterAid’s crucial work, and thanks all Scottish Water employees and their families who took part in this challenge for their efforts.
