Intergenerational Board Game Fun at Wallacestone Primary School

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Wallacestone Primary School and Food Train Falkirk on their recent initiative, which forged intergenerational connections between local Braes residents and primary school pupils; understands that members of Food Train Falkirk, who reside within the Lower Braes area of Falkirk, visited Wallacestone Primary in the first week of October 2024 and played board games with the P5 pupils; recognises what it sees as the creative approach of Food Train Falkirk to establish intergenerational connections with local pupils, greatly reducing social isolation and improving the health and wellbeing of individuals in both groups; notes that Food Train is a charity operating across Scotland, supporting people who are over the age of 65 with practical help to eat well, age well and live well at home for longer; recognises that, as part of the befriending service offered by Food Train Falkirk, members attend monthly outings in the local area; congratulates Wallacestone Primary School and Food Train Falkirk on their successful board game event, and looks forward to more events like this in future.
