Douglas Samson's 101.7-mile Challenge
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Douglas Samson, from Motherwell, on his amazing achievement, completing an exceptional 101.7 miles with an 8,100 ft elevation in the 24-hour ultra marathon in Glenmore Forest near Aviemore, where he finished in 12th place from 110 runners; applauds his efforts in raising over £2,000 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital; understands that Glasgow Children’s Hospital, through donations and fundraising, ensures that every baby, child and young person treated receives the extra special care that they deserve; commends all those who donated and showed support to such a great cause; further commends Douglas’s unwavering support of his fellow competitors in the marathon, and wishes him and his family all the best the future.
