The motion

That the Parliament recognises the reported regeneration of the former J&J White Chemicals plant in the Shawfield area of Glasgow; understands that the land, once described as being one of the most polluted inner-city sites in the UK, and which has lain derelict for decades, will be brought back into use thanks to joint investment between the UK Government, Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and Clyde Gateway; notes that Clyde Gateway has been working over the last decade to decontaminate the land; understands that the UK Government awarded £14.7 million towards the project in November 2023 as part of a UK Levelling Up Fund award, and welcomes the development of new high-value manufacturing industry within the area and the resulting creation of employment opportunities and economic activity.
