Dundee Cycle Track Granted Sportscotland Funding

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the £100,000 awarded to Dundee City Council from sportscotland’s Community Cycling Facilities Fund; understands that the funding will be put towards establishing a new 125m pump track; further understands that the track will be located in the city’s east end, an area that faces multiple and complex issues, including challenging Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation figures; recognises that the track will be free for the community to use during evenings and weekends, providing opportunities for formal and informal cycling activity; understands that children will be supported to make use of the facility with the assistance of Active Schools, and believes that the track offers important opportunities for the city’s east end.
