Welcoming Funding of £141,501 to Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project, Based in Kirkcaldy, Fife, from the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the reported funding of £141,501 to Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project, based in Kirkcaldy, Fife, from the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland recently; understands that the funding will go towards the recruitment, training, support and provision of qualified counsellors to anyone living in the Fife region referred over the age of 16 who has experienced childhood sexual abuse; further understands that the organisation offers services such as counselling, befriending, domestic abuse and a responsive project, and that, as well as offering support from its Kirkcaldy base, it can arrange to visit people in their own homes or closer to their home; believes that this funding supports a vital service that uplifts and supports local communities and makes a real difference to where it matters most; is grateful to the National Lottery players and Community Fund for this valuable contribution, and recognises the vital hard work of Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project and its role in supporting vulnerable individuals and families in local communities across Fife.
