UEFA Fines
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates UEFA on issuing fines for the use of pyrotechnics by both Rangers and Celtic fans in recent games against Borussia Dortmund, Malmo and Lyon; agrees with the statement of the Rangers interim chairman, John Gilligan, that “the use of pyrotechnics must stop and stop now”; further agrees with his point that "many supporters have difficulty coping with the effects of pyrotechnics"; believes that football fans cannot consider themselves to be a kind of elite who are above the law, and calls on the Scottish football authorities to clamp down more heavily on pyrotechnics and other antisocial behaviour around football matches.
