National Lottery Heritage Fund Grants Kilmaronock Old Kirk Trust £245,244

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Kilmaronock Old Kirk Trust on receiving a grant of £245,244 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund; notes that the funding will go towards building a sustainable future for the Old Kirk of Kilmaronock by adapting and fitting out the building as a community space and heritage hub; understands that the Kirk Trust is a charity that was formed in October 2017 in response to the closure of Kilmaronock Old Kirk, which was a grade-B listed classical building with a long history of community use; acknowledges the aim to save and enhance the historic environment of the old kirk building and surrounding area to benefit the communities of Gartocharn and Croftamie, as well as for visitors to this part of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and wishes the organisation every success in creating the hub.
