Congratulations to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital Play Team

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the play team at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) on receiving the Play Team of the Year award at the 2024 Health Play Awards; notes that the awards, held by STARLIGHT, recognise inspirational healthcare professionals who work to ensure that every child experiences the power of play; understands that the team at RACH won this award for its outstanding dedication and innovation in using play to enhance the hospital experience for young patients; further understands that play can be a vital part of a child’s treatment and recovery, reducing fear, pain and trauma, particularly in the potentially daunting hospital environment, and believes that this award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the play team at RACH, led by play services manager, Heather Beattie.
