Welcoming SSEN Transmission’s Housing Strategy
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the launch of SSEN Transmission’s housing strategy; notes that, in what it understands is an industry first, SSEN Transmission has pledged to support the delivery of more than 1,000 new homes across the north of Scotland; acknowledges SSEN Transmission's role in addressing the region’s housing challenges; understands that SSEN Transmission is collaborating with contractors, local authorities, registered social landlords and other housing organisations to deliver new homes as part of its Pathway to 2030 programme, which aims to upgrade the transmission network in the north of Scotland in support of energy security and national net zero ambitions; considers that this strategy can serve as a template for other infrastructure developers, driving housing development in the communities where their projects are located, and understands that SSEN Transmission aims to create a legacy in the communities hosting its workforce, by delivering housing that supports local needs once its projects are completed.
