Foodbank Fundamentals

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Clyde Valley Community Church and Newmains Community Trust Ltd, in the Motherwell and Wishaw constituency, on their successful applications to the Asda Foundation’s £250,000 Foodbank Fundamentals grant scheme; notes that both organisations have been awarded grants of £1,000 each to support what it sees as their essential work in providing food and community services to those in need; further notes that these grants will help fund food stock, storage, white goods and fuel costs for food deliveries, ensuring that they can continue to provide vital support to local communities; recognises what it considers to be the importance of the Asda Foundation’s efforts to build resilient communities by addressing local challenges and social needs, and commends the commitment and dedication of Clyde Valley Community Church, Newmains Community Trust Ltd, and all those involved in supporting their work in Motherwell, Wishaw and the surrounding areas.
