Gold School Sport Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates pupils from Logans Primary School, in Motherwell, and Newmains Primary School, in Wishaw, on being awarded the Gold School Sport Award from sportscotland; understands that the Gold School Sport Award recognises the achievements of both schools, highlighting the excellent practice shown across areas of the award, and demonstrating an ongoing commitment to increase the engagement and opportunities for young people in physical education; notes that sportscotland’s School Sport Award is funded by the National Lottery, and that the national initiative is designed to encourage, improve and celebrate successful sport models while also encouraging links between schools and the communities around them; acknowledges that the number of schools in Motherwell and Wishaw that have received a Gold School Sport Award has now reached 11, and commends both schools for their success.
