University of Aberdeen Expands Access to Maths Education with Fully Funded Courses
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the University of Aberdeen's offer of fully funded places on two online maths courses for adults aged 16 and over living in Aberdeen city; understands that these courses are being funded with support from the UK Government through Aberdeen City Council's ABZ Works and Multiply programme, a national initiative to help improve functional numeracy skills; notes that the two courses offered are the Access Course in Maths at SCQF Level 5 (National 5 equivalent) and the Access Course in Maths at SCQF Level 6 (Higher equivalent); recognises that these tailored educational pathways provide opportunities for those seeking to strengthen their foundational or advanced mathematical understanding; commends the University of Aberdeen's commitment to widening access to maths education and supporting the upskilling of the local community; encourages eligible residents of Aberdeen city to apply for these fully funded places before the application deadline of 15 November 2024, and wishes the University of Aberdeen and all participants every success with these important maths courses.
