Congratulating Pioneering Borders Rugby Coach

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the rugby coach, Richie Gray, from Galashiels on receiving an honorary doctorate from Edinburgh Napier University; commends Richie’s contributions to the sport through developing contact training methods and equipment, which reduce collision injuries and concussions; recognises the potentially life-altering impact that Richie’s developments have had on the safety of the sport; further recognises the inspiration that Richie brings to young people in sport; encourages the Scottish Government to invest in sports development, and wishes Richie continued success in his future endeavours.
