Sakoon Mind Project Receives a National Lottery Community Fund Grant
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the North Lanarkshire and Glasgow-based Sakoon Mind Project on receiving a National Lottery Community Fund grant of £5,700; understands that this one-year project will facilitate free monthly drop-in events for members of the South Asian diaspora and other people to raise awareness of positive mental health and wellbeing; notes that at the core of the project’s mission is a commitment to destigmatising mental health issues and prioritising accessible resources for people and families; supports the aim of creating a supportive and inclusive environment where people can feel free from stigma and fear of judgement, and believes that, by providing resources, raising awareness and fostering compassion, this funding will provide an additional boost to what it believes is an already strong project that has done great work.
