St. Brendan’s Primary School Gold Rights Respecting School Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates St Brendan’s Primary School, in Motherwell, on being awarded the prestigious Gold Rights Respecting School Award by UNICEF UK; acknowledges this outstanding achievement, which recognises the school’s exceptional commitment to embedding children’s rights throughout its curriculum and school life; commends the staff, students and the wider school community for their dedication to creating an environment where children’s rights are respected, understood and actively promoted; recognises what it sees as the significant efforts made by St Brendan’s Primary in involving students in decision making, empowering them to become active participants in their learning, and fostering a culture of mutual respect and inclusivity; highlights what it sees as the importance of such initiatives in shaping the values of young people, ensuring that they are not only aware of their rights but also equipped to respect the rights of others, and expresses its congratulations to all involved at St Brendan’s Primary School for what it considers is this well-deserved recognition and their continued success in promoting children’s rights and creating a positive and supportive school environment.
