Midlothian Swimming Club Named Scottish Swimming Club of the Year 2024

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Midlothian Swimming Club on being named as Scottish Swimming Club of the Year 2024; understands that the competitive club trains at Penicuik, Lasswade and Beeslack pools, with swimmers competing in age groups between eight and 18, and an adult masters section; considers that the club's activities are facilitated by dedicated volunteers who range in age from their teens to their 80s; further considers that the award is a huge achievement for the club and reflects the hard work of all involved, and recognises what it sees as the many health and social benefits that swimming has to offer people of all ages and abilities.
