Bo’ness Football Coach Recognised at 2024 SFA Grassroots Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jennifer Honeyford, of Bo’ness Community Football Club, on being named the Best Volunteer in Girls/Women’s Football at the 2024 Scottish Football Association (SFA) Grassroots Football Awards Ceremony, held at Hampden Park; understands that the award recognises volunteers who have gone above and beyond in the girls' and women’s game to ensure continued female participation and development; notes Jennifer’s dedication to her local club, committing to at least six days per week of coaching various age groups, balanced with her own training and playing commitments; recognises what it sees as the important role that grassroots football plays in improving both mental and physical health, as well as the wide-ranging social benefits associated with participating, and wishes Jennifer and all of the other nominees and winners all the best in the future.
