Congratulating Kilmaronock Old Kirk Trust on Receiving an Award of £245,244 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kilmaronock Old Kirk Trust on its award of £245,244 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund; understands that Kilmaronock Old Kirk Trust was established in 2017 to buy the building from the Church of Scotland; notes that the trust planned to restore it and to run it as a social enterprise for community use; further notes that the sale was completed in February 2021, together with the purchase of the car park and the glebe; understands that this award will allow the trust to ensure that the Old Kirk is sustainable for the future by adapting and fitting the building out for community and heritage use, and recognises that 2024 marks 30 years of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with awards of almost £990 million going to over 5,000 projects in Scotland.
