Break the Silence Paddleboard Challenge
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Kilmarnock man, Jack Allsop, and his friend, Fiona Chambers, on paddleboarding 18 miles from Balloch to Tarbet to raise money for the local charity, Break the Silence; recognises that the duo raised over £1,100 for the Ayrshire charity, and completed the challenge in eight hours and 30 minutes; understands that Break the Silence provides a range of tailored, professional support options in North and East Ayrshire for people affected by childhood sexual trauma, and is a charity close to Jack’s heart; notes that the pair fought against tough conditions but were delighted to finish the challenge quicker than they expected, and commends them both for this achievement.
