Congratulations to the Tivoli Theatre
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Tivoli Theatre in Aberdeen on securing a £10,000 grant through the Energy Pilot Scheme from Aberdeen City Council; understands that the grant will be used to help fund a project to replace outdated filament lighting with energy efficient LEDs at the grade A listed building, as well as introducing dimmers and motion sensors to conserve energy usage by ensuring that certain areas do not have to be fully lit when the rest of the building is lit, and the purchase of a rechargeable battery system to reduce battery waste after performances; further understands that the Energy Pilot Scheme, which is administered by Scarf, a local social enterprise, which delivers a range of services to householders, communities and businesses throughout the north east, offers non-repayable grants of up to £10,000 to eligible SMEs, providing businesses with the financial support needed to undertake energy-saving upgrades; believes that this project will allow the theatre to reduce its carbon footprint, save on fuel bills, and promote a more sustainable, eco-friendly operation, and wishes managing director, Caroline Morgan, and the rest of the team at the Tivoli all the best with the completion of this project.
