The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Montrose Rugby Club on achieving accreditation under the Provider Accreditation Scheme (PASS) for sport; recognises that the PASS scheme was launched by Angus Alive in November 2024 to quality-assure the governance and organisational practice of sports club and physical activity providers that are based, or operating, in Angus; understands that Montrose Rugby Club is a volunteer-led group, with 70% of the club’s committee made up by women, including coaches, fundraisers, first aiders and managers, who all give up their time to offer rugby coaching for boys and girls from nursery age to under-18s; notes that the club is currently in the process of fundraising for a new and improved multi-use community facility at its base at Union Park, and wishes Montrose Rugby Club well as an accredited safe, reputable sports provider in Angus.
