The War Office Children’s Christmas Appeal

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The War Office in Motherwell on the outstandingsuccess of its Children’s Christmas Appeal; notes that the appeal was organisedto provide for children in the local community during the festive season;understands that the initiative raised an impressive amount of money and giftdonations, allowing gifts to be provided to 10 families, benefiting a total of23 children in Motherwell; further understands that any remaining monetarydonations were converted into gift vouchers and distributed to local schools,and that warm jackets were also donated to Airth Court in Motherwell;recognises what it sees as the vital and generous contributions of the local communityin reaching out to families who find themselves struggling financially duringthe current cost of living crisis, to make this initiative possible; commendsThe War Office for its dedication to supporting local families, and extendsbest wishes for the success of future community fundraisers and events.
