The motion

That the Parliament congratulates children's author, Angela Proctor, from Glasgow, for pledging to give all of the money raised from her film, Arthur's Christmas Tale, to the NSPCC; considers that Angela's film is a heart-warming animation that tells the story of a homeless pug, named Arthur, who melts Jack Frost's heart on Christmas Eve; acknowledges that the film is based on a poem that Mrs Proctor wrote to highlight the importance of kindness and raise awareness of homelessness; understands that, in 2023, the film was shown in independent cinemas and raised almost £3,000 for the homelessness charity Shelter; further understands that the short animation is available to watch now on STV Player, with each view generating money; understands that more views means that more can be donated to NSPCC, and recognises that the film, made entirely in Scotland, features children from three Glasgow primary schools, Antonine, Knightswood, and Highpark.
