SP Energy Networks Awards £55,960 to Twechar Community Action

That the Parliament congratulates Twechar Community Action on being awarded £55,960 from the SP Networks Net Zero Fund; notes that the group transformed the old recreation centre into Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre, which is a community hub that houses a full-time pharmacy, a satellite GP surgery, café, sports hall and meeting rooms, and hosts a vast range of activities and services; appreciates that funding will allow for the purchase of a new electric minibus, replacing an ageing diesel vehicle; acknowledges the organisation's efforts to decarbonise and reach its net zero targets; understands that the £5 million Net Zero Fund was launched in 2022 by SP Energy Networks, part of the Scottish Power group, to support vulnerable communities and ensure that no one is left behind on the country’s journey to net zero emissions, and directly supports organisations within SP Energy Networks’ transmission areas that have green ambitions and are looking to decarbonise their communities, and wishes the management and volunteers ongoing success with the project.
