Stranraer's Romano Petrucci Appointed MBE
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Romano Petrucci, of Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway, on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in The King's New Year Honours; understands that this award was given in recognition of Mr Petrucci’s service to the community of Stranraer, in particular, for his work as chair of, and with, the Stranraer Development Trust; notes that the trust has helped grow and develop the now renowned annual Stranraer Oyster Festival, which was first held in 2017; marking the only remaining sustainable wild oyster fishery in Scotland in Loch Ryan, and thanks Mr Petrucci for his selfless service to Stranraer over many years, including through his many current and previous voluntary activities.
