Recognition of the Shetland Valkyries Success in the Caledonia North League

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Shetland Valkyries women’s rugby team on securing its sixth consecutive Caledonia North league title; commends the leadership team, which was recently recognised in The Shetland Times Shetland Sports Awards, where the coaches, Brian Chittick and Neil Murray, received the Shetland Sports Coach of the Year award for fostering excellence and breaking down barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sport; acknowledges the support of local businesses, including Arven Offshore Wind Farm, as the team’s official sponsor for the upcoming season, and recognises such partnerships as an example of community collaboration that supports local talent and opportunities.
