King Charles Approves Six New Deputy Lieutenants for the City of Aberdeen

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the commissioning of six new deputy lieutenants for the city of Aberdeen; understands that the newly commissioned deputy lieutenants approved by King Charles are Mr Myles Edwards, Mr Graeme Kinghorn, Mrs Morven Mackenzie, Mr Ian Ord, Mrs Rita Stephen and Dr Hector Williams; notes that the new deputy lieutenants were commissioned at a ceremony in Aberdeen by the Lord-Lieutenant, Dr David Cameron, The King’s representative for the city of Aberdeen; recognises that the new deputy lieutenants were chosen for their significant contribution in their respective industries across energy, the third sector, hospitality, health and education, and also for their generous charitable work over many years; acknowledges that the deputy lieutenants are appointed by the Lord-Lieutenant to voluntarily carry out public duties on his behalf, including officiating at local ceremonies and official events, and congratulates the new deputy lieutenants on their appointments.
