Christmas Charity Shield

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils of Greenwood Academy for organising the Christmas Charity Shield fundraiser on 18 December 2024, where they raised £605 in support of the Ayr-based Night Before Christmas Campaign, which works year-round to help children and families in need across the community; recognises the creativity and effort of the Greenwood students in planning the charity football match between Bibcelona and McLaughland FC, and in setting up other creative fundraising challenges; commends the generosity of the school community in supporting the event through donations; acknowledges what it regards as the important work of the Night Before Christmas Campaign in supporting less fortunate children and families in Ayrshire, and applauds all involved in what it sees as this inspiring and impactful initiative.
