Calling on the UK Government to Reconsider its Decision Not to Award Compensation for Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI)

The motion

That the Parliament believes that, further to the decision of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, women born in the 1950s, who were not properly informed of the rise in their state pension age, also known as Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI), have been rightly offered an apology for their treatment by the UK Government; further believes that the UK Government should reconsider its decision not to award compensation to any women and look at options to provide women with a compensation award, in particular those women who were most adversely affected, in order to reflect the injustice that it believes they have experienced, and recognises and thanks the supporters of the WASPI campaigns, who have campaigned so hard for the women affected.
