Glasgow Student First Scottish Voice on Ring Doorbells

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Azkah Sardar, a 23-year-old medical student from Glasgow, whose voice will feature on Ring doorbells, following a casting search at the Silverburn shopping centre; understands that Scotland’s "voice of the nation" search was launched after Ring’s research found the Scottish accent to be one of the most endearing in the UK, with 44% of people considering it one of the friendliest; further understands that this is the first time that Ring has worked with a member of the public to voice its replies, and the first time that a Scottish accent will be heard on the video doorbells;  acknowledges that, to celebrate the launch, Sardar also recorded a bespoke Scots language reply, which says “We’re no in the noo, but haud on! Afore ye go it’d be pure dead brilliant if you’d leave a wee message. Haste ye back"; understands that people can use the Ring app to set up the Scottish accent quick reply, and further understands that Ring wanted to celebrate regional dialects and is thrilled to start in Scotland.
