Mile End Primary and the Net Zero Technology Centre

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates pupils from Mile End Primary School in Midstocket, Aberdeen, on their successful visit to the Net Zero Technology Centre’s (NZTC) Innovation Hub on 23 January 2025; understands that the visit gave 30 P6 pupils the opportunity to explore science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in action at the Centre, learning about cutting-edge clean energy projects and participating in interactive workshops designed to spark their interest in STEM subjects and green energy careers; further understands that the event was part of a broader STEM programme aimed at inspiring future scientists and engineers across the north east, working alongside the Young Workforce, Career Ready and the Russell Anderson Foundation to offer internships, mentorship schemes and graduate opportunities; believes that these kind of schemes are vital in ensuring that Scotland has the workforce necessary to take full advantage of its abundant clean energy resources, and hopes that the pupils involved have been given the motivation to become part of the next generation of Scottish scientists and engineers.
