Motion · S6M-16271 · 28 Jan 2025
Acknowledging the International Fire and Rescue Association
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish charity, the International Fire and Rescue Association (IFRA), on its ongoing work to promote the preservation of life from fire and other disasters; notes the work of IFRA predominantly takes place in countries affected by war, civil unrest and natural disaster; further notes its reported difficulties in completing the delivery of the fire appliance and other equipment that it has donated to the municipality of Nablus in the West Bank, which is Dundee’s twin city; recognises what it sees as the long established links between the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) and the Palestinian Fire Service; wishes IFRA every success in overcoming any obstacles to completing this current aspect of its activities, and further wishes both IFRA and FBU success in their future endeavours.
