Irvine Mascots for Scotland's Six Nations Match

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the five young players from Irvine Rugby Club for being selected as mascots for Scotland’s Six Nations match against Ireland at Murrayfield on 9 February 2025; acknowledges that four mascot places were awarded by Scottish Rugby in recognition of the club’s exceptional growth in youth participation, with a fifth place earned through a regional Christmas card competition; commends Robert McIlvenna and the club’s volunteers for their efforts in expanding youth participation from around 20 to nearly 100 players across various age groups; recognises the dedication of the club’s fully qualified and PVG-checked coaches in providing opportunities for young people to engage in rugby, and encourages more youngsters to get involved in the sport at Irvine Rugby Club.
