Dalkeith and District Citizens Advice Bureau

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Dalkeith CAB on what it sees as its innovative system, VERA (Virtual Expert Remote Advice); understands that VERA allows people to access a range of supportive information via a touchscreen station, sited in community hubs and pantries; believes that this allows the service to reach a wide range of people, in a safe environment, and provides assistance before any further escalation; further believes that there are currently three VERA units, with plans to expand this number as funding allows; thanks the hard work of Dalkeith CAB for developing the ideas to make them a reality, and looks forward to seeing further roll-out of VERA units across the Midlothian area to that ensure more people have access to CAB and other support services when they need it most.
