Aberdeen - Britain in Bloom Finalist
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Aberdeen has been named as a finalist in the 2025 Britain in Bloom competition; notes that Aberdeen has a long history of success in both the Britain in Bloom and Beautiful Scotland competitions, stretching back as far as 1964, and winning a medal in either competition every year since 2008; understands that Britain in Bloom is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society and is the top gardening competition for councils and other community organisations across the UK, and that category winners will be announced at an awards event in the autumn; believes that this shortlisting is a testament to the continued hard work of the many council workers and community volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to attending to Aberdeen’s green spaces, ensuring residents of the Granite City can enjoy the various parks and green spaces it has to offer, and hopes that judges are impressed when they visit this summer.
