Welcoming Glasgow Universities’ Status as Amongst the Best in the UK

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the recognition of Glasgow’s universities as amongst the best in the UK; notes that the University of Glasgow was ranked as the third best performing university in Scotland and the 16th in the UK; further notes that the University of Strathclyde was ranked as the fifth best university in Scotland and 20th best in the UK and that Glasgow Caledonian University was ranked as the seventh best university in Scotland and 44th best in the UK, and congratulates the city’s universities and their staff for all their hard work to ensure teaching quality, positive student experiences and research quality, some of the significant factors that have led to this important recognition.
