Commending NHS Lanarkshire on Achievements Highlighted in Climate Emergency and Sustainability Annual Report 2023-24
The motion
That the Parliament notes the findings of NHS Lanarkshire’s Climate Emergency and Sustainability Annual Report for 2023-24; understands that the NHS board has increased the number of data sources and improved its knowledge of carbon emissions; welcomes the reported decrease in energy consumption by 2.5% across the NHS board; congratulates NHS Lanarkshire in securing grant funding for the installation of solar panels at the NHS board’s headquarters in Bothwell and the NHS West of Scotland laundry in Wishaw; notes that NHS Lanarkshire continues to progress the transition of its small vehicle fleet from diesel to electric, and commends NHS Lanarkshire staff for playing an active role in tackling the climate and nature crises, which it believes will help to protect and improve the health of people in Lanarkshire while taking care of the planet.
