150 Years of Burgh Primary School, Galashiels
The motion
That the Parliament recognises the 150th anniversary of Burgh Primary School, which is Galashiels’ oldest primary school, having opened in 1875; notes that there are a range of activities and community events planned to mark this anniversary, including a new memory project allowing past pupils to contribute their memories of their time at Burgh, to create a comprehensive history of the school, which has seen tens of thousands of pupils pass through the door, including multiple generations of the same families; congratulates the school on reaching this milestone, cementing its place as a key part of Galashiels’ history; thanks all staff, volunteers and pupils who have been a part of its story, and wishes it all the best for the next 150 years and beyond.
