Glasgow Pollok Man Launches Football Team for Older Men

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Christopher Moore on launching a brand new football team, after staying active helped him, following his wife’s death in 2024; notes that the Old Boys Football Night aims to offer people, who may be facing challenges such as in relation to bereavement or mental health, a place to receive support as well as an opportunity to stay active and meet new people; understands that the group is for men specifically over the age of 40, who feel like they have drifted away from the game, or no longer have the same social circles; acknowledges that the opening night on 7 February 2025 saw 16 men turn up and that the team now has close to 30 members, and understands that the Old Boys Football Nights take place every Friday at 7pm at Hillwood Community Sports Hub, based in the south side of Glasgow.
